UEA BSL- Guest Speaker for Deaf Awareness Week

Join us for Deaf Awareness Week 2024, to hear about topics including Deaf awareness and Deaf culture from a guest speaker from SignWise Tuition.

Deaf Awareness Week 2024 will be from the 6th to 12th May. This week aims to spread awareness about Deafness and the Deaf community, educating people on how they can become more Deaf friendly and inclusive in their workplaces, schools, friendships and families. With 12 million adults in the UK being Deaf or having hearing loss, it is a great to find out more about different communication tips and the barriers that Deaf people face. 

To find out more about Deaf awareness and Deaf culture, we have a guest speaker joining us from SignWise Tuition. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more for those interested in British Sign Language and/or Deaf culture. It is also  ideal for anyone looking to pursue careers in areas such as Speech and Language Therapy, Education, a variety of health care courses etc.
