At the UEADS, we are proud to offer a wide variety of regular events, which will strengthen your debating and speaking skills. Among these are our regular weekly sessions, which focus on improving your ability to form and deliver arguments. Our primary format is 'British Parliamentary', which fosters a high-standard of debate and argumentation, while also developing with significant personal and proffesional skills! We also hold regular 'union-style' debates, where we invite distinguished speakers to campus, to talk on a range of topical issues! Throughout the year, we also attend a number of debating competitions, including some outside of the UK! These competitions are a fantastic opportunity to test your debating skills, meet people from other universities, and take part in exciting and engaging debates! We also hold regular socials, including bar crawls and quiz nights! We'd love to see you at one of our events in the future!
