Welcome to The UEA 93% Club!
A part of the UK’s largest community of state-educated students!
Did you know that 93% of the UK are state-educated? That means only 7% went to private schools. However, those 7% who were privately educated make up 34% of FTSE 350 CEOs, 35% of Senior Judges, 43% of the House of Lords, and 56% of Journalists. We are working to change this.
Who are we?
The 93% Foundation is a leading social mobility charity, tackling the state-private education divide in the United Kingdom. Our aim is to address this by giving students from disadvantaged backgrounds and simply those without connections through being privately educated the opportunity to attend workshops, seminars and social activities that will equip them with the skills to become serious competitors in the job market.
You can be a part of a community with over 10,000 students across 45 universities and take advantage of the 93% resources over multiple fields, including sponsors such as; PWC, META, Goldman Sachs, Herbert Smith Freehills and many more. So, no matter your degree, great opportunities are available if you decide to join and no matter your background or degree everyone and anyone is welcome!
What to look forward to!
We are going to run all kinds of events ranging from:
-
Regular socials (Bar crawls, club nights, meetups, quizzes)
-
Competitions
-
Networking events and guest speakers
-
Academic workshops (CV building, Interview practice)
