Darts Society gives students the chance to play darts in an relaxed accessible environment on campus on a weekly basis. We are welcome to absolutely everyone, with any level of experience - you don't even need to have picked up a dart before or know anything about the game! The sport is easy to get to grips with and we're all about just having a good time.
We have some big things planned for this year!
Mondays (weekly):
We'll be continuing with our Monday weekly sessions on campus, 18:30-21:30, NEWSCI 0.06 - this time with 6 boards so more time for everyone to play. The first part of the session will be some general practice/minigames, the middle part being a friendly pairs tournament, and the final part will be a more competitive singles knockout tournament as part of the semester league! The first session you come to, whenever it may be over the year, is free, so you can come along and try our sport out before getting your membership.
Tuesdays (fortnightly):
We are also planning on holding socials, mostly on Tuesdays, whether that be darts-based or general socials, at pubs, bars, across the city - even the new darts shop 'ArrowHeadz', along with some fundraising.
Membership costs £8 for the entire year (you won't need to pay for a SAM membership) and with this you can come to every event we hold. This £8 will help us supply the necessary equipment that enable us to run these events - including darts, dart boards and stands, as well as organising socials.
Follow us on Instagram at uea_darts to keep up to date with everything, and when you become a member, keep an eye on your emails for a few further details, including an invitation to our WhatsApp group chat. See you on a Monday soon!
