Welcome to the new and improved PsychSoc at UEA!
Our aim is to increase the profile of Psychiatry in MED and beyond here at UEA, whether it's through crash courses, fundraisers, spotlight sessions and mock OSCEs. We are super excited to see you all whether you're thinking of working in psychiatry or not.
Our aims:
We would like to put on revision events such as mock OSCEs, written exams revision etc. As well as this, we aim to host speaker events to raise the profile of academic psychiatry and careers in psychiatry for those who are passionate about the specialty.
As part of this, we would also aim to have workshop events to educate society members and across UEA about different mental health problems with guest speakers.
We also hope to do some fundraising events such as bake sales, quizzes etc. to raise money for local mental health charities such as Norfolk and Waveney Mind and the Horizon Project, and also nationwide strategies like CALM, Samaritans and YoungMinds.
We also hope to have casual socials (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for meet ups, discussing mental health matters, placements and psychiatry, general conversations about university life and board games for our members.
