Activities & Opportunities Officer

Hi, I’m Olivia, your 2024/25 Activities and Opportunities Officer!

Who am I?

I like cheerleading and enjoy the teamwork and energy it brings. I'm also interested in enterprise and like exploring new business ideas. In my free time, I value spending time with my family, friends, and dogs.

My role is responsible for all the clubs and societies on campus. So, over the year I’ll be raising awareness of them all and pushing for greater transparency in expenses involved in them, all whilst trying to bring back the night bus!

Your Activities and Opportunities Officer represents you.

The Activities & Opportunities Officer is a full-time representative of students, focusing on representing the interests of Clubs, Societies and events, and making sure all students have a fantastic time at University.

My Manifesto

My top three goals for the next year are:

  • Publicise & Celebrate: Utilising screens around campus to expand the visibility of our clubs & societies. Celebrating achievements, showcasing events & fostering a sense of community.
  • Open Societies Night: Societies can reserve a dedicated campus space to host an 'open night' to attract new members and showcase their soc. The aim would be to have this as a fortnightly event.
  • Fancy Dress Swap Scheme: To promote sustainability and address the cost of living, I'd love to introduce a fancy-dress swap scheme, allowing students to exchange outfits for sports nights and other events on a weekly basis.

For all the details on my aims and what I plan to do, check out my full manifesto below!
