As part of improving your academic representation, not only does every school have course reps for each course, each also has a School Convenor!

What does the School Convenor do?

The School Convenor has many roles, they -

  • gather feedback from students across the school (both Undergraduates and Postgraduates) and feed these into School Boards and Committees.
  • Will be the Student Co-chair on the Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) in their School
  • will also be a member of the Education Committee in the Students' Union and will attend Union Council  representing your views!

What do I do if I wish to be a school convener?

If you are interested in this position for next year, we are currently taking nominations for the School Convenor Elections at https://www.uea.su/elections/ so make sure you do apply before Tuesday 5th March! Course Rep Elections will open in mid March, so keep an eye out for those as well!

If you have any questions just get in touch with Lindsay at l.westgarth@uea.ac.uk
