Discussion and Q&A with the Rt Hon. Lord Peter Hain

We are very excited to announce our first speaker event of Summer Semester 25!

We are delighted to be joined by Rt Hon. the Lord Peter Hain on February 3rd. Doors open at 6:15pm in the Enterprise Centre Lecture Theatre. 

Lord Peter Hain is the former Secretary of State of Northern Ireland, Former Secretary of State for Wales, and Former Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. Lord Hain ran for deputy leadership of the Labour party in 2007. He was the MP for Neath from 1991 until 2015. 

After supporting his anti-apartheid parents inside South Africa, Hain was exiled to London where he led anti-apartheid campaigns, subsequently becoming a friend of Nelson Mandela.

Now a Labour Peer, Lord Hain is an author and continues to be active in British Politics.

This event will be free and open to all UEA students and staff as part of our refreshers period!
