Superhero Marathon, Pt 2

Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to watch long movie marathons in a single bound!

Join the Geek Society in Lecture Theatre 3 as we explore the evolution of superheroes in film and TV!

Our second day hits the ground running as we visit Metroville, home of Bob and Helen Parr and their three children, in the fantastically fun The Incredibles, before a sharp change in tone as we visit Gotham City in 2008’s The Dark Knight. After that, we’ll be watching an episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, part of the vast and sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe, followed by an episode of one of DC’s flagship shows, The Flash, and an episode of Luke Cage. Rounding off the marathon, we glimpse a world that could have been in Marvel’s animated series What If…?

The original line-up for our second day included Avengers Assemble, Black Panther, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Unfortunately, the Students’ Union does not have a licence to show these films, and have requested that we remove them from the event.

Everyone’s welcome to come along, and we’ve made sure to pick films and episodes that don’t require any prior knowledge to enjoy. Join us for the whole marathon, or just drop in for your favourites!
