A celebration of why YOU love theatre, whether you're a pining Pinter, the Sondheim of tomorrow, or just want to enjoy an evening of variety performance, this PANTS is for you. All proceeds to charity.
PANTS: Origins
Every theatre kid has their beginnings...
Welcome to the first PANTS of the new academic year! Our theme this time is Origins, where we will be celebrating what sparked our love for theatre. Maybe it was a puppet show you saw when you were five, maybe it was GCSE Shakespeare, maybe it was last month when a spotify search for Queen's Greatest Hits turned into a We Will Rock You cast recording album party. At all DMTS events, everyone is welcome and everyone's love for the performing arts is just as important whether it's casual, or taking over your life.
Performers: If you wish to perform, please buy a free Performer's Ticket and you will be contacted by the society in due course. You will have the chance to rehearse with a member of the committee if you wish. Slots are first-come-first-serve and if we have a high volume of sign ups, you may be placed on a reserve list.
What can I perform? Absolutely anything! You can do a song, a monologue, a dance, a poem (and anything else you can think of). PANTS is a completely safe creative space.
Audience: As a special Fresher's Discount, everyone can pay the member's price, £1. Ticket proceeds will go to suicide in youth prevention charity Papyrus UK.
When: Friday 20th September. Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
Where: Room TBC, likely to be in the main lecture theatre block.
