BCAN: Critical Carbon Literacy

Join BCAN for a week of Critical Carbon Literacy Training. 1-2pm in the Doctoral Training Centre by Constable Terrace.
Responsibly navigating the climate emergency while keeping our sanity is a skill that all of us need to work on. Throughout the week UEA BCAN (Biodiversity and Climate Action Network) will be running their brand-new critical carbon literacy training. This will involve five linked events, but any of them can also be attended as a stand-alone event if you are unable to attend of them. All events are between 1pm and 2pm in the Doctoral Training Centre which can be found between the two Constable terrace buildings (opposite the Sainsbury Centre). The sessions are as follows:
Monday
Climate change: the facts: Come and learn the basic facts about climate change and our changing environment.
Tuesday
The energy transition to Net Zero: Phasing out fossil fuels is critical to addressing climate change. What progress is being made and what issues are being encountered.
Wednesday
Carbon Footprinting: Come and play a game that teaches you the the basics of carbon footprinting. Also learn more about the challenges of measuring and accounting for carbon.
Thursday
Overcoming climate inaction
Why isn’t enough climate action being taken and what can be done to overcome this?
Friday
Imagining sustainable futures
Our ability to fight for a better future depends on our ability to imagine. Come along to creatively explore sustainable and just futures.
