Join us for the Festival of Lights

A vibrant Diwali celebration blending tradition and community spirit. Enjoy an evening filled with music, dance, delicious Indian food, and cultural performances. This event is all about embracing cultural heritage and building a sense of unity within the student community and beyond.  

Pooja (Prayer Ceremony):
Experience a meaningful ceremony led by a Hindu priest, followed by time for personal reflection in a communal prayer space. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Rasavali drink.

Cultural Performances:
Delight in live music, singing, and performances by the Hindu, Indian, and Mallu societies, showcasing the rich and diverse traditions within our community.

Food & Drinks:
Savor traditional Indian sweets and a vegetarian rice dish with raita, provided by our event sponsor, Keram Restaurant in Norwich (www.keramrestaurant.co.uk). A delicious treat is included with each ticket to enhance your Diwali experience.

Tickets & Funding:  

Tickets are free for students and £3 for the general public. Join us for an evening of Diwali festivities, with food, music, and performances, while supporting our event!  

Open to All:  

While this event is ticketed, UEASU has organised additional free activities for everyone to enjoy, including:  

  • Rangoli Activities: Students of Colour Ambassadors will host these in the Exhibition Space/Hive from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.  

  • Access to the Multi-Faith Centre: Open for reflection from 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM.  

  • Sparkler Display: 8:30 PM - 9:00 PM in The Square.
