Channelling the sounds of The Byrds, Big Star and The Flying Burrito Brothers, as well as hints of Mojave 3 and Allah Las, The Hanging Stars mainline the dying embers of the early 70s psychedelic folk and cosmic country scenes. The band is comprised of Richard Olson (vocals/guitar), Paul Milne (bass/vocals), Joe Harvey-Whyte (pedal steel), Paulie Cobra (drums/vocals) & Patrick Ralla (guitar/keys/vocals).

Having won the Bob Harris Emerging Artists Awards at the AMAUK awards ceremony in 2023 and recently completed a trip to the Americanafest in Nashville, the band are gearing up for the release of album #5.

The first single ‘Happiness is a Bird’ sees the band continue to ride their distinct brand of cosmic Americana, this time melding Jerry Garciaesque psychedelia with the warm breeze of the Balearic islands.
