Freedom of expression is critical for the LGBT+ community. Many young LGBT+ individuals still have difficulty exploring different styles of beauty or fashion due to long-existing social stigmas.
However, celebrities with influence, like Harry Styles and Ruby Rose, have been using social media to normalise breaking out of gender norms. This highlights the importance of having the support of others to feel empowered and boost individual creativity. Attending events promoting expression could be a way to connect with like-minded people and feel empowered.
