Clubs, Societies and Peer Support
The SU offers lots of opportunities for you to enjoy student life away from textbooks. We like to think that we have something for everyone, and if we don’t, we can help you to develop new activities that you're passionate about. All our clubs, societies and peer support groups are run by student committees who volunteer to bring these activities to you. Through societies and peer support groups, the SU empowers students to make a change in their communities. All these groups are run by students alongside their studies and provide you with a wide array of opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people and get the most out of your time at UEA. You can find our club and society pages here
DSD
Do Something Different is an extracurricular programme delivered by the Students’ Union, with the support of the UEA, to enhance your time at university. buddy(su)
buddy(su) is the best way to settle into life at UEA and get support from our trained student volunteers. This is a great way to get to know students from different courses and schools as well as outside of university accommodation. Whether you want to know the best place to study on campus, learn a new skill or meet new people – joining the buddy scheme can help!
buddy(su) matches students in their first year of study with a buddy according to their needs, circumstances and interests - such as an area of study and hobbies. Buddies are trained to help support you to make the most of your time at university and will be a great source of knowledge for everyday life as a student. From regular social events, trips, group study sessions and more - there is something for everything to get involved with.
Volunteering
There are so many reasons to volunteer whilst at university. Volunteering is a great way to make friends, develop your skills and can be rewarding. It gives you the unique opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives, the local community or the student community.
